Nissan North America (NNA) has selected AeroVironment to supply and install home-charging stations for the Leaf electric car. The estimated recharge time is eight hours on a 220V domestic supply, giving a ramge of about 100 miles.

"Nissan is moving to link driving with zero emissions and energy independence," said AV chairman and CEO Tim Conver.  "Our selection as the preferred charging equipment and service provider, for what we believe will be the largest adoption of battery electric cars in history is a great opportunity to [establish a nationwide EV charging infrastructure]."
