The AIMS (Advanced Integrated Management Solutions) Group, a division of ABC-NACO Inc., announced that CSX Corp. has signed a new three-year contract to use RailDOCS, a proprietary internet-based daily operations control system. They also announced that CSX will expand the usage of RailDOCS across the majority of the railroad's operating departments.

The AIMS Group, an Application Service Provider (ASP), created RailDOCS in 1994. The system features easy internet access to a wide range of proprietary software applications that provide railroads with a more efficient way to control day-to-day support operations, such as project and data management, planning, engineering and purchasing.

The system allows railroad managers to focus on their primary goal of keeping trains running safely and efficiently while support functions are handled routinely through fully integrated RailDOCS programs. By merging individual files and disparate systems, the railroad manager has communication and data management tools that make it easy to work across departments, vendors and other entities. The result is improved operating efficiencies and lower operating ratios.

"Wherever there is Internet connectivity, our customers have access to their management systems with just a click of a mouse," says Joseph A Seher, Chief Executive Officer.

"Our ASP business model is practical, affordable and easy to use. It delivers precise system functionality for each individual customer and functions in a secure environment. Since the system is hosted by us, there is no up front cost for software, maintenance contracts or other fees. The cost is based on usage, with a very small charge per transaction," added Seher.

The AIMS Group is one of the world's leading suppliers of vertical market ASP and other advanced computer and management related services to the railway and other industries.
