Our client is a Global manufacturer of metal components and electronic systems to the automotive, energy, and aerospace industries.  We are looking for an HR profession to meet the following qualifications:

Excellent opportunity for proven HR leader with a hands-on style. This position has responsibility for all HR activities for two manufacturing plants and one resource unit located in LaPorte supporting about 400 employees. We will look to you to partner and guide the leadership teams in translating business strategy into HR action that drives business results.

Demonstrated success at partnering with Leadership to drive business results, lead all aspects of strategic workforce planning with emphasis on building and sustaining strong talent pipelines. Must have room for upward mobility!

Additional Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with plant personnel. Hands on!
  • Handle labor relation and employee relation issues/topics
  • Oversight and involvement with maintaining talent pipeline

Basic Qualifications

  • BS Degree in HR, Business or related field of study.
  • Strong HR Generalist or Manager background with at least 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading HR function.
  • Labor relations or employee relations experience
  • Experience implementing short and longer term human resource strategy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced college degree
  • Change management, and continuous improvement; experience in a lean manufacturing environment
  • DDI certification, SPHR or PHR
  • Broad knowledge of HR as well as demonstrated hands-on expertise with results in areas such as:
    • Translating business strategy into HR strategy
    • Fostering a positive employee relations environment
    • Strategic staffing/recruitment and talent management
    • Organizational effectiveness and leadership development
    • Team building and effective communications
    • Performance management and compensation
    • Strategic partnerships in public/community relations
    • Benefits administration and payroll
    • Building strong partnerships with charitable and local government organizations
