RE: CHINA: China to eye US vehicle 'dumping' after tyre spat

As for tyres, electronics, textiles, toys and so forth, the Chinese will take over car mass manufacturing in the future. This future will certainly be much closer, if helping them like Ford would do by selling Volvo Cars to Geely. Those few billions they could get for Volvo is nothing compared to what they would loose in the future with decreased sales. In the long term, the question is, who will remain besides the Chinese car manufacturers. In other words, it is a suicide starategy to help them with a much shorter track to high class car and manufacturing technology together with the global marketing knowledge and network that Volvo has. It is hard to see, how to keep the Chinese out from US and other car markets, since we are eager to sell cars in China.
