Aisin Seiki helps Japan's largest carmaker be more than the sum of its parts. An affiliate of Toyota Motor, Aisin Seiki manufactures auto parts such as transmissions, brakes, cooling and lubrication systems, door frames and latches, and car navigation systems. While most of the company's sales come from auto parts, it also makes refrigeration equipment and cutting machines, as well as consumer products such as beds, sewing machines, and toilet seats with jet sprays. Aisin Seiki has subsidiaries throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Australia; most are committed to manufacturing. Toyota owns about 23% of Aisin Seiki. Aisin Seiki is also a major player in the aftermarket.
