Infiniti had a record year in 2015, selling 215,250 vehicles worldwide. January is looking good too, with the addition of the UK-built Q30 just starting to add some decent volume, especially across European markets. But surely no Infiniti makes as much of a visual impact - and as much profit - as the range topper, the XXL-sized QX80.

Nissan North America is recalling 28,182 2014-2016 Q50 models made from 26 December 2012 to 11 December 2015 plus Q50 Hybrids made 10 December 2012 to 17 December 2015 because software may incorrectly set the direct adaptive steering at start up, altering the vehicle's steering responsiveness and turning radius.

Nissan Europe has again picked its Sunderland, north-east England, factory to build its segment-pioneering Juke model. The automaker did not announce a production start date for the redesigned, second generation model line but just-auto expects this early in 2017. The decision, the automaker said, "points to a secure future for both production lines in Sunderland and the jobs of 34,000 people currently employed by Nissan and its British suppliers beyond 2020".
