Four-door Renault pickup plugs a gap in Brazil

Around four years ago, Renault-Nissan alliance CEO Carlos Ghosn visited Brazil and said the French automaker had no plans to make a Renault (Dacia) Duster/Logan/Sandero-derived pick-up. In fact, he just seemed to be deliberately fooling everyone and, more than that, hiding his plans for a planned compact four-door pick-up for the local market.


Dacia adds automated manual option

Renault's low cost Dacia brand has finally added automatic transmission to its powertrain options though the gearbox is an automated manual rather than a conventional epicyclic, CVT or twin clutch unit. The Logan, Logan MCV, Sandero and Sandero Stepway will all be offered with the new transmission, in conjunction with a petrol engine before the end of this year - but not the Duster.
