In this interview, Matthew Beecham talked with Thierry Pebre, Inteva’s chief engineer of motors and electronics, Inteva Products LLC about the company’s electric motors. In January 2011, Inteva Products acquired ArvinMeritor’s body systems business. The move enables Inteva to strengthen its position as a global supplier of door systems and access control systems while expanding its product expertise to include roof systems, motors and electronics.

Troy, Michigan-based ArvinMeritor has officially changed its name to Meritor, gaining a new ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: MTOR) effective from the start of trading today (30 March, 2011).

ArvinMeritor has reported financial results for its first fiscal quarter ended Dec. 31, 2010. The company, which recently sold its body systems business, is also planning a name change to Meritor, Inc. by the end of March.

In this interview, Matthew Beecham talked with Stefan Land, Vice President and Executive Director for the Roof Systems Product Line, Inteva Products. Stefan was previously Vice President and General Manager of ArvinMeritor’s Body Systems business group.

Back from two weeks' 'holiday at home' (not entirely my first choice; do not mention the words 'Iceland' or 'volcano') to a mixed week for the auto biz. It's nice to see a bit of uptick, at last, in the components sector with Magna back in the black in the first quarter on the back of increased OEM production in the USA (especially) and Europe and increased complete vehicle sales as new contracts like the Peugeot RCZ kicked in to replace the Chrysler minivan assembly withdrawn back to the US from the plant in Austria some time ago.
