Coinciding with the launch of the fully redesigned second-generation cars in the UK last weekend, BMW's Mini unit has come up with a new 'cuckoo clock' design for its 'Mini Collection' range of gifts and accessories sold through dealerships.

The latest clock is an update of the popular predecessor: every hour, on the hour, a detailed 1:93 scale chilli red Mini sets off on a quick round trip, circling the speedo-like clock face to the sound of the horn and engine.

If just-auto recalls correctly, the previous version also featured a model Mini - but that one emerged from its garage - with appropriate sound effects - on the hour.

The new clock costs GBP69.95 in the UK.

The previous version - launched with the first generation Mini in 2001- clocked up over 10,000 sales.

A cuckoo clock in the car? Big smile

Not a ad thing if you're alone and need something to keep you from sleeping, but could also instigate road rage in some people - not to mentione bajeeber removal on many unsuspecting riders. Big smile
