6 November 2009 | Source: just-auto.com editorial team

Renault, which already produces its Mégane hatchback and estate and Modus lines exclusively in Spain, has decided to make the future electric vehicle (EV) based on the Twizy ZE Concept at its Valladolid plant, 150 km north west of Madrid.

Valladolid was selected for its expertise and performance in compact car production, the automaker said.

Production will start in 2011.

Renault announced last month that Valladolid would be allocated production of a thermal engine in 2012 and a fuel-combustion vehicle in 2013.
