CHINA: Vehicle sales rise 12.5% in April
Vehicle sales in China increased by 12.5% year on year in April. According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), 1.28m sedans, SUVs, MPVs and minivans were sold last month compared to 1.14m in April 2011. For the January-April period, deliveries rose 1.9% to 5.05m.
UK: JLR increases spend with local suppliers
Jaguar Land Rover, the UK luxury car unit of Tata Motors, is to spend an additional GBP1bn (US$1.6bn) with UK suppliers over the next four years as demand for the Range Rover Evoque continues to grow around the world.
