Encouraging signs of automotive life in South Korea
The reshaping of South Korea's automotive industry that has resulted from the regional economic crisis of the late 1990s is not over. However, it is now becoming clearer how the industry will be reconfigured. Amazingly, some of the signs are encouraging and some of the larger companies have emerged from the crisis in better shape and with a much brighter future. Among these is the Hyundai-Kia group, which has been integrating at a rate that even Renault-Nissan would envy. Tony Pugliese reports.
