DaimlerChrysler's MCC Smart: a smart drive?
DaimlerChrysler's 'Smart' City Car has been a thought provoking if controversial project. DC is building a brand with Smart and a new four seater - which will be built in collaboration with Mitsubishi - marks a new chapter for the brand from 2004. But how does the City Car coupe drive? Ashley Campbell spent a week driving (and parking) the new right hand drive Smart around London. Here he gives us his views on the unique two-seater and wonders what the marketing people have to do to persuade us that driving the two-seater is safe, practical and environmentally worthwhile.
